Bio

Mrs. Alexis Rolls-Duffy is the director of choral music at Dakota Ridge High School where she oversees the DRHS choir program. This is Mrs. Rolls-Duffy’s first year at Dakota Ridge High School and 6th year teaching secondary choral music. Previously, Mrs. Rolls-Duffy was an Instructor of Record and Teaching Assistant for the Music Education Department at the University of Colorado Boulder for 2 years, and prior to that she was the Director of Choirs at Barry Middle School in Kansas City, Missouri for 5 years. 

Mrs. Rolls-Duffy was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri and is an alumnus of the University of Kansas and the University of Colorado Boulder where she received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music Education with a Cognate in Choral Conducting. 

While at the University of Kansas, Mrs. Rolls-Duffy double emphasized in Voice and French horn. She was a member of KU’s Chamber Singers, Concert Choir, Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Horn Ensemble, and the Marching Jayhawks Marching Band.

During her 5 years of teaching in Kansas City, Mrs. Rolls-Duffy sang professionally with the chamber choir Kantorei of Kansas City. While singing with Kantorei KC, she had the opportunity to record the album “To Bethlehem” and perform at the 2019 American Choral Directors Association Conference. 

While at CU Boulder, Mrs. Rolls-Duffy was the Alto section leader for CU’s Chamber Singers. During her time in Chamber Singers, Mrs. Rolls-Duffy performed at Carnegie Hall in 2022 under the direction of Dr. Elizabeth Swanson, attended a master class with the critically acclaimed ensemble Voces8, and performed at the 2023 Colorado Music Educators Association Conference. 

Professionally, Mrs. Rolls-Duffy is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, the Colorado Music Educators Association, and the National Association for Music Education.

When Mrs. Rolls-Duffy is not directing choirs or singing, she likes to spend her time with her husband and their two dogs, or with friends & family. Additionally, Mrs. Rolls-Duffy enjoys traveling, reading, skiing, hiking, and attending concerts & performances.
